Original photographs taken in the magnificent Coastal Redwood forests of Northern California transformed into modern lanterns, The lightboxes are encased in handmade salvaged Redwood frames and backlit with a dimmable LED bulb. They easily plug into any 2-prong outlet and feature a cloth wrapped, antique-style cord.
Each image is one-of-a-kind. The images seen here are examples of past works and no two boxes are exactly the same. All parts of the lightbox process from image to frame are completed by artist.

LIGHTWORKS A series of black and white photographs taken at Roy's Redwoods in San Geronimo, California.
CONCEPT Created in the spirit of site-specific artwork, these were made to convey the experience of magic felt as a child in vast natural settings. This was a forest that I grew up in as a child and have strong memories of developing my first connections to nature.
PROCESS The physical prints are pinpricked by hand, encased in hand-built boxes, and then back-lit with LED bulbs.
